Hi, I'm Derek. I've spent over thirty years in enterprise IT - starting as a developer, and working my way up to Senior IT Manager - and I still go deep enough to really understand the systems I lead, not just manage them from a distance. Right now that means Solutions Architect at FOMX.ai, an early-stage Claude Partner Network studio, building the three platforms below with AI agents. I'm actively looking for my next senior IT leadership or architecture role - take a look around.
01Background
In IT since 1994 - developer and consultant across finance, healthcare, and energy before joining Commerce Bank / TD Bank in 2004, then twenty years progressing from team lead to Senior IT Manager. Along the way, my teams and I built under fifteen custom applications through three successive waves of emerging enterprise technology - ECM, then BPM, then RPA - before I moved from building them myself to owning and governing them at enterprise scale.

03What I'm architecting and building right now
All three are AI-powered, real applications - not local scripts. Two live on AWS today, the third built cloud-ready. Two in production, one in active development - the same dev → SIT → prod discipline I'd run on any enterprise platform, applied to my own work, solo, by choice.
A fantasy sports platform on AWS - agentic AI built in, live ESPN scoring, in full use through the March 2026 NCAA tournament.
A retirement decision simulator - real tax rules, an AI advisor that narrates but never computes a number.
An AI-driven job-search platform - tailors a resume and cover letter to each posting's own language, tracks the pipeline end to end.
What I bring across all three - CI/CD, AWS, GPU inference, reusable code →
